Favorite Self Confidence Quote

Because one believes in oneself, one doesn’t try to convince others. Because one is content with oneself, one doesn’t need others’ approval. Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.

Definition of Self Confidence

Self confidence is the acceptance of, and belief in yourself without reliance on external validation or measures to define your worth.

Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence

Janice was full of self-doubt.  She very much looked outside of herself for that external validation to believe she was worthy, intelligent, beautiful, etc. That also included understanding her own value as it seemed to compare with others.

The “AHA” Moment

It’s been a really gradual process and one that continues. Part of that process has been about learning to identify and love the positive aspects of herself. But discovering self-confidence has also involved doing some deeper exploration into where Janice’s wound of feeling inadequate and unworthy comes from, in order to move towards greater self-acceptance.

Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence

Since learning to look more inwardly and listen to Janice’s own intuition, in both defining herself and making life decisions, she has experienced a greater sense of happiness, freedom, and self-confidence. She has been able to make some big, authentic changes in her life because of the greater belief, acceptance, and love she has for herself.

The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener

Explore getting reconnected with your own intuition or “higher self,” so that you can access that grounding internal force when all of those external voices start competing for your attention. Also, if you feel ready and safe to take this step, I would consider going deeper into exploring your shadow side, core wounds, and/or trauma, if you feel these things are blocking your path to true self-acceptance and self-love.
