Leigh Roxas-Mobley is a woman in tech. Leigh is passionate about encouraging those in underrepresented groups to pursue their 
dreams of working in a STEAM field. As a Moms Can: Code coach, Leigh hosts coworking sessions and workshops designed to help fellow moms learn to code and pursue careers in tech. In March 2018, Leigh was on the winning team at The Expat Woman’s Womanhack All Women’s Hackathon, where she and her teammates designed an app to make women’s healthcare more accessible and affordable. In April 2018, Leigh was a guest speaker at the Moms Can: Code Virtual Summit.
Leigh shares how she was able to overcome her negative perceptions of herself and be able to become a woman in tech. She is now helping others who went through similar experiences as she did.

Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
Leigh didn’t have a lot of self confidence. She bullied as a kid and school was hard for her. She went from job to job because she thought she wasn’t able to do anything else. Leigh loves to code but thought there were people who were better than her at it.
She became a make up artist but got told she wasn’t attractive enough to work with other people.
The “AHA” Moment
It was having her daughter that helped Leigh gain confidence. She was scared to be mom since she was the first person in her family to have a baby. Leigh struggled as mom but as days turn to weeks to years, she saw the growth of her baby. She realized she created life and did something she thought it was never possible. Being a mom to a daughter she saw the world in her eyes.
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
Leigh took a coding bootcamp but she suffered with imposter syndrome. She finished the bootcamp and is now in school to finish her degree. She always knows she can make out of it and everything will be okay.
She learned she was able to do something difficult and pushed through to the end. She wants to help other women who are going through the same experiences she went.
