Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence

During Maria’s schooling years, she was always the Asian nerd that got picked on. In addition, she moved around from state to state and when she did get settled in, her family would move again. Maria didn’t get the chance to truly plant herself in a location long enough for friendships and peers to appreciate and encourage who she was. She therefore developed a social anxiety of meeting new people and a fear of rejection so most of her lunches was spent in the library reading books and imagining an alternative life.

The “AHA” Moment

It was in 2001 when she had her epiphany. Both her parents were experiencing a failed marriage and she was stuck in the cross roads of their heated arguments. When visiting cousins arrived, they asked if she wanted to join them and live in a different state. At first, the thought of something new was quite worrying, but deep down inside she yearned to find her own calling and independence. Maria definitely didn’t want to live my life in fear of people and new situations and so she hastily packed her bags and left home at the age of 16.

Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence

Life became an adventure in finding herself in a new place. Maria was starting a fresh and decided to be whoever she desired to be. She started to count away her social fears as the new her had no inhibitions, was courageous and is on the pathway to finding out her ultimate purpose. After a year away from home, Maria returned back, with a new sense of identity and drive.
