Kathy Wong is the founder of Quest for Calm, a private online community to promote growth and healing through social learning material, guides, resources, accountability partners and much more. She is a NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Health, the largest grassroots mental health organization) advocate working to bring awareness to ending the stigma of mental illness as well as working with legislation to improve mental health services in New York. She is born and raised New Yorker with a background in hospitality, sales and marketing. Kathy spent over 5 years hosting some of the hottest nightclubs in New York and Vegas (EMM Group and Caesars Entertainment.) It wasn’t until she left that career that she was able to focus on her true passion which is writing.

Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
When Kathy left nightlife and started on this journey to self healing and improvement, she was so overwhelmed with where to even begin and how to continue. She definitely had a lot of doubts about so drastically changing her life. But ultimately by committing to the work and having the self-confidence to follow her passion, she has created a business that she is so proud of.
The “AHA” Moment
Kathy realized she need to spend time with herself through meditation. She got the quiet and awareness of her thoughts because of it. In doing all this inner work and creating this content online Kathy has really begun to put herself out there. She recently posted about living authentically through social media. You know, Instagram is a highlight reel and we post mostly not who we are but how we want to be perceived. It’s exhausting keeping up that facade. Moving forward Kathy has committed to living with integrity and honesty. That means using social media with purpose, to interact and help others, not to show off the highlights on her life.

Don’t give up. It can be hard and scary to put yourself out there and follow your dreams. But to be able to be your real self is so worth it and live your truth is so worth it. This journey has brought so much calm into my life and I want that for everyone else out there.
