Jasmine Ma currently serves as your 2020 International Junior Miss Taiwan. Born in Taipei, 
Taiwan and later moving to the United States, the reigning Miss Taiwan is a graduate of Temple University with a Bachelors in Psychology and a Product Manager in the engineering resins industry. When Jasmine is not working in the engineering field, she’s tending to her two fluffy cats in Los Angeles, California.

Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
Jasmine has always been told that she has an outgoing personality. However, she was very insecure about her appearance. Also, she was not financially well off so she had to wear discount brands and hand-me-downs, and she has a noticeable beauty mark, both the source of relentless teasing. When she became “confident” about her appearance she was confident in doing things that made others happy, or what she thought would make her happy, not what truly made her happy. That didn’t happen until breaking her jaw and its recovery process that followed where she really had her final moment of realization
The “AHA” Moment
The first time Jasmine had her AHA moment was in high school after accepting how she looks. The second time was in college after going through a major weight transformation and loving her body. The final moment that really made her who she is was after she broke her jaw and recovered from it. The recovery process embodied the challenges from the two prior discoveries and made it into a “final boss.”
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
It’s been the same yet dramatically different. Jasmine has learned to accept the things that she can and cannot change as well as look for the silver lining even on dark and stormy days.

Remember that this is a journey and that most of the time, this change doesn’t happen overnight however the journey is just as important as the end result. Miley Cyrus said it best, “Life’s a climb. But the view is great.”
