I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and you’re not in this world to live up to mine.
Definition of Self Confidence
Self confidence is when you embrace and accept who you are.
Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
Stacey always portrayed herself outwardly as confident or would use humor or the way she dressed or carried herself to try to prove to others that she was confident but inside, she was so insecure and needed validation from all the external factors to make her feel worthy.
The “AHA” Moment
Stacey was going through a rough time in her personal life a few years back, and she thought she could change things if she changed her body. She went on a crazy insane diet that almost led her to anorexia and luckily she caught herself before she completely destroyed her body. She realized that the happiness she felt after she lost 30 pounds did not last, and at her core she was still miserable, unhappy, lonely and stuck at her rock bottom.
Stacey actively started to work on herself. She knew she had to make some sort of change, and changing the outside didn’t work so she decided to work on the inside. That was the start of her self-love, self-rediscovery and self-care journey.
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
Stacey is still not 100% there yet, and she believes that we as human-beings are always going to be works in progress. She has her great days where she is super confident and happy and she has her really dark days when her insecurities and depression creeps out of nowhere.
But when she realized that she doesn’t need anyone else’s approval, and that she could live her life on her own terms, she finally felt at peace with herself; with everything that she is, her accomplishments, her flaws, her character, her connections, her actions, and her thoughts.
The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener
Instead of comparing yourself to others, compare yourself to your past self, because the only person you’re in competition with is you. Know that you already have all the tools you need to accomplish anything you set your mind to. Always be kind to everyone, and most especially yourself.
