Definition of Self Confidence

Self confidence is acceptance of who you are, how you look and how you sound. This leads to self-love, self-worth, self-acceptance and ultimately being self-confident.

Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence

Sonal was born with congenital hip dysplasia which meant there were a number of things that she could not do as a child. With work she excelled rising from being an Admin Officer to Deputy Director in the Civil Service. Yet the journey included comments like, ‘people like you don’t go very far, you have to wait till you get a tap on the shoulder
and you are not good enough.’ She did not conform to their expectations so was treated differently. In fact, it was because of being treated differently that she left after 23 years of loyalty.

The “AHA” Moment

Sonal was at a wedding and recall seeing an English Male Toastmaster making a number of announcements at an Indian wedding and his pronunciation was all over the place. He did not speak the language so struggled with
getting some of the elderly to understand, so it made me realize that she had found her calling to events both as a Toastmaster and Celebrant.

Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence

After the discovery, life has been very different.  Sonal is following a career path that she enjoys. She is working with
people and ensuring that they have amazing, unique, special and memorable events.  She loves being a people’s person and sharing those skills.  She absolutely loves being a Lady Toastmaster and Ceremonies Celebrant having the skills to bring in Asian rituals as well. What has made this time even more special is that she has always love working with children and ladies sharing her knowledge and skills. This time away from a full- time job has also given her the opportunity to start sharing her communicating with confidence skills through workshops, seminars and an online course.  She has been featured in publications like the Daily Mail, Khush Magazine, The London Wedding
Magazine, Sovereign Magazine and others and have already won a few awards.

The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener

It is ok to be different. Follow your dreams and passion. Don’t be afraid, take risks, don’t compare yourself to others. Be yourself and enjoy the good and learn from the not so good. Work towards being a better version of yourself.
