Favorite Self Confidence Quote

Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained.

Definition of Self Confidence

Self confidence is believing that you can do whatever you set your mind to.  You don’t have to believe that you’re the best at everything, but you should have faith in yourself and your character to know that, no matter what your goal is, you will work as hard as you possibly can to achieve it.

Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence

Sarah was very insecure.  She relied on the approval and praise of others to be happy.  She never wanted to attempt anything, because she feared failing or looking bad in front of others.

The “AHA” Moment

Sarah developed over several years in high school. She started forcing herself out of her comfort zone, attempting new things and achieving new things.  She started with very small things at first, but with every achievement, she grew a little more confident and started to aim bigger.

A huge help to that she thinks was beginning to go to the gym. It was a HUGE goal of hers to get fitter/build strength, but she was terrified and didn’t know where to start. Nevertheless, she knew she had to get herself into the gym to get going. The first time she did it, she was almost close to tears in the changing rooms. It seemed impossible – a bunch of scary, huge gym dudes in the free weights area, where Sarah, a small, clueless girl had to go. After about 30mins though, she worked up the courage to go into the gym and lift. And it was amazing. The feeling of self-empowerment, of feeling like a total badass, carried her through the day and to her next workout.  She realised that nobody CARED about what she was doing.  If anything, they RESPECTED her for working out and wanting to get fit in the first place!  From time to time, she still gets a little anxious before every workout and worry about what people will think of her, but after she forces herself to get in there and smash it out, she always feel so silly for worrying after!

Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence

For Sarah this discovery has presented endless amounts of opportunities for her.  She is no longer afraid to ask for what she wants. And you’d be surprised. Most times, if you just ask for something, you’ll get it!  This has had a positive effect on many aspects of her life. She has met so many new, amazing people, just because she was courageous enough to go up to them and say hi. At university, she has learnt so many new things and gained the favour of many of her tutors, just because she was fearless enough to ask questions or to ask them to explain something to her.

The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener

Believe in your ability to put in the work. You aren’t born with everything at your doorstep, but you can definitely EARN it.
