Definition of Self Confidence

Michelle’s definition of self confidence is that you simply believe that you’re capable of doing things including what you want to do.

Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence

Michelle used to doubt herself a lot and she always thought like “I’m not the kind of person who can do that” and she always thought that other people were better than her. So it was very destructive and it was this vicious circle.

The “AHA” Moment

It was actually during university where Michelle had a lot of oral exams. She was so horrible at it because she was always so nervous and doubting that she could actually do it even though she knew it all and studied really hard. So she got some bad grades. And then she thought: okay, if I can’t convince myself that I actually know this stuff – how am I ever gonna convince other people that I do?

Then she started pretending that she knew it all.  It was simply a matter of her attitude and showing more self-confidence in the exam room. And it really worked.  She started getting the grades that she actually deserved from all her hard work. Now she uses that trick a lot and that’s also why her motto is “Fake it till you make it”, because she wasn’t self-confident at all but by acting like if she was, she started becoming more self-confident and she was able to cut the vicious circle.
