Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
Lianne was extremely shy, quiet, afraid of the real world, afraid of strangers, mistrusting, sad, and easily affected by society and the opinions of others.
The “AHA” Moment
While living in Taiwan for 3 years, Lianne was too afraid to try and make conversation in Mandarin for the entire first two years, which she was very new at. One day she realized that she has awkward encounters daily, but people weren’t laughing at her Mandarin all day and judging her, they were going on with their lives and would forget about her ten minutes later. It really didn’t matter and she didn’t have to feel so embarrassed and self conscious.
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
Lianne started making youtube videos in Taiwan and realized she could speak on camera. Then came back to LA and suddenly was able to make lots of friends, relax around people, and even perform on stage!
The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener
Pursue your interests because improving at them will make you feel good. Put yourself out of your comfort zone. Travel alone because you will be forced to interact with people and figure everything out yourself. Do the things on your bucket list because it’s rewarding. Meet people because it leads to opportunities.
