Definition of Self Confidence
Self confidence is being self assured. Knowing you have your own back no matter what happens.
Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
Karen used to be so consumed by her struggle with unattainable perfection. She called it the pursuit of suffering. One of the tools used during her childhood was the comparison game. There’s always somebody doing better. It implied without achieving enough you won’t be enough. She hopes parenting methods are more evolved these days but we’re all doing the best we can. It’s a journey and she is still on it.
The “AHA” Moment
Karen had her earliest one when she was a child. She realized that there is no one like her. She also stood out like a sore thumb being the only Asian kid so fitting in was not an option.
She had another one after becoming a coach. Karen has been passionate about modelling the journey to inspire her tribe to join her. Ambitious, soul led, heart filled women. She get to hear so many stories. She didn’t even realize that her fear of failure was keeping her small.
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
For Karen, it’s been a brilliant series of failures. Failing her way forward and how it has increased her self-confidence. Speaking up and saying the hard things has been huge. She also has her own business, a flash briefing and micro-podcast. That’s a lot of talking for an introvert.
The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener
Never take anything personally. Anything that anyone has to say to about you is a projection of where they are not you, a reflection of something within. Women tend to think it must be me.
