Self-confidence is staying true to yourself.  It’s also about understanding your own strengths and vulnerabilities.  People would doubt her skills and experience because she was a woman and she was young.  She never used to mention that she was the CEO of her company.

When Carolyn started her company, she faced challenges due to unconscious bias even if she knew that she was capable.

The “AHA” Moment

Carolyn met one of her mentors that she looked upto and the mentor asked her why she didn’t put CEO in her LinkedIn profile.  When Carolyn told her why, her mentor encouraged her to put in on her profile which made Carolyn realize that she can show up as herself.  It also gave her the confidence now to say she is the CEO of her company.
