Definition of Self Confidence

Self-confidence is being secure about who you are and your abilities. Furthermore, self-confident people know their worth and would never settle for less. They also know when to let go of people or things that cause negativity and self-doubt.

Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence

Before Anja moved to the Philippines, she was really afraid of stepping out of her comfort zone to pursue her dreams. The thought of the unknown can be very scary so in the past.  She would rather play it safe than taking any risks. Also, Anja was always concerned what others might think about her or she lets toxic people influence her in a negative way where she would feel stuck and lost.

The “AHA” Moment

Anja had her AHA moment at church when the pastor preached about letting go of anything or anyone toxic in your life that brings you down. His preaching made her cry because she realizes that at the end of the day, you’re in charge of your own life and it depends on how you deal and react to things happening to you. If you’re not happy with a situation, go ahead and change it.
Don’t be afraid to let go and move on and do whatever makes you more fulfilled in life.

Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence

Anja is definitely not where she wants to be when it comes to her own self-confidence but being more confident helped her perform better and she has stopped comparing herself with others and just focused on herself.

As a model, you sometimes can’t help but compare yourself with others (e.g. she’s skinnier, she’s prettier etc.) or the rejection you sometimes get might affect your self-esteem. However, knowing her worth helped her deal with those situations way easier.

The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener

The best way to gain more confidence is to stop having negative thoughts. A positive mind-set can make a huge difference and you’ll start focusing more on the good things you got going in your life. Additionally, take a quick break once in a while to write down or to visualize what you appreciate
about yourself. It’s a good reminder to boost your ego a little and helps you develop the habit of
positive thinking.
