Favorite Self Confidence Quote

Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right.

Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right.

Definition of Self Confidence

Knowing who you are and believing in your abilities, even if you have opposition. Really owning who you are, inside and out, flaws and all. It’s having the courage to do what you set out to do, accomplish something you’ve never done before and trusting your own instincts.

Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence

Christina didn’t grow up in an environment where self-confidence was taught or really instilled in me at all. She didn’t have it for a long time. She viewed life through a much narrower mindset. Like how did what other people do affect her?

She was afraid to say what she thought. Christina would have rather have said what she thought other people wanted to hear, more often than not. It was really quite suffocating. Like she was playing this role that wasn’t quite me.

She often let other people define her based on their assumptions of who she was, based on what she looked like or what their perceptions of her were.

The “AHA” Moment

The one Christina most vividly remember was shortly before her son was born and she was thinking wow. She was a part of a culture that was not supportive of a daughter-in-law necessarily being able to speak her mind or make substantive decisions for herself. She thought, there has got to be a better way.

Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence

Christina now views life with a different lens. Now she tries see different points of view. Because not everyone will automatically think as you do. Or be able to read your mind. She ia definitely 100% happier because of this broader way of thinking. It’s learning how to be happy with who you are, where you’re at and not comparing yourself to other people.

The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener

If you have old hurts, you really have to face whatever those are in your life. Whether it’s your parents, old flames, friends, coworkers, bosses, whatever.  Accept them. Forgive anyone who you feel upset towards. And then absolutely accept responsibility for your part, whatever it may be.
