Favorite Self Confidence Quote

Life isn’t about having, it’s about being. You could surround yourself with all that money can buy, and you’d still be as miserable as a human can be. I know people with perfect bodies who don’t have half the happiness I’ve found. On my journeys I’ve seen more joy in the slums of Mumbai and the orphanages of Africa than in wealthy gated communities and on sprawling estates worth millions. Why is that? You’ll find contentment when your talents and passion are completely engaged, in full force. Recognise instant self-gratification for what it is. Resist the temptation to grab for material objects like the perfect house, the coolest clothes or the hottest car. The if I just had X, I would be happy syndrome is a mass delusion. When you look for happiness in mere objects, they are never enough. Look around. Look within.

Definition of Self Confidence

Having the trust in oneself that you have the abilities to do what you intend to do.

Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence

Life for Tracy is typically in a mess. She attempts suicide on several occasions. Being in a negative state & having a victim mentality, life for her was just spiraling down, attracting the wrong people in her life.

Before embarking on the journey of discovering self-confidence, Tracy is someone who doesn’t see any future for herself and tries to drag everyone down with her.

The “AHA” Moment

It all started with one motivational video that Tracy saw one day on Youtube. It did impact her life but it didn’t move her to take massive action. She is still struggling with life.

Then, she was employed as an admin officer in Singapore Prison Service. Back then when she is in the service, sometimes, she has to handle the administrative matters for all matters relating to inmates’ education alone. That caused her to find ways to be able to dig out of the tunnel; slowly she started to gain confidence in herself.

Then, she went to take a counselling course in January 2012 (about 2 years of service) and resigned from her job to be able concentrate fully in her studies. Taking a counselling course has caused a massive shift in Tracy’s thinking and it has been the biggest “aha moment” for her. She started to see how much limiting belief she has on herself and how her thinking and action could positively influence others.
