Favorite Self Confidence Quote
You either walk inside your story and own it or you stand outside your story and hustle for your worthiness.
Definition of Self Confidence
Self confidence is knowing deep down that you are worthy simply because you exist. It’s a sense of grounding, of inhabiting space unapologetically. It’s being able to trust yourself, to act from a place of worth and contentment instead of fear and desperation. It’s knowing that you are enough, regardless of what anyone else says.
Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
Kristl was miserable. She never felt like she fit in and she thought that something must be wrong with her. Kristl was constantly comparing herself to others, thinking she wasn’t enough. She suffered from severe depression and anxiety and was unable to trust herself. Kristl kept waiting for the “thing” (losing weight, finding someone to date, hitting a certain income bracket) that would finally get her confidence, not realizing that if she learned to love herself, the confidence would follow, as would everything else.
The “AHA” Moment
Kristl was deep in the throes of depression when she discovered body positive communities online. She saw people that were shaped like her and thought they looked good. It blew her mind. If she could look at people her size and larger and think they were beautiful, why couldn’t she treat herself that way? That was over 8 years ago now.
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
Kristl trusts herself and she takes much better care of herself.
The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener
Find support. Whether it’s in the form of a coach, mentor, therapist, friend, teacher, online community, in-person community – it doesn’t matter. Find someone you can talk to, someone who’ll hold space for you and respond with empathy. Find something that lights you up, that brings you joy, and make sure to fit it in your life.
