Definition of Self Confidence
Self confidence is owning your strength and power.
Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
Rehana used to invalidate her own accomplishments, use self deprecating language, and downplay everything she had ever done from getting a good score on a test, to starting a magazine at 16. She countered every bit of praise she got by saying something negative about herself. She thought that talking about what she had done was the same thing as bragging.
The “AHA” Moment
Rehana realized that if she didn’t believe in herself, no one would and if she doesn’t take herself seriously, no one else is going to. She didn’t have the luxury of waiting for people to encourage her. The world that she was growing up in is filled with people whose experience could never compare to their egos, and is also filled with smart, accomplished people who are listened to. If people aren’t going to listen to or believe in her, she will show them why they need to. And that starts with believing in herself.
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
Rehana is more confident when making decisions, and she is far less willing to listen to people with a fraction of her experience. She trusts her instincts, and doesn’t blame herself when things go wrong. Instead, she just finds a way to fix them.
The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener
ou don’t need to prove anything to anyone. Everyone draws self-confidence from different things in their life, for some women it’s their professional or personal accomplishments, being well-read, or being financially independent. You don’t need any of those things to be confident in yourself. Don’t hold yourself to someone else’s standards.
