Favorite Self Confidence Quote

Stay afraid, but do it anyway. What’s important is the action. You don’t have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually the confidence will follow.

Definition of Self Confidence

Self confidence is is being unapologetic about who you are.

Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence

Kristine is STILL trying to discover her self confidence! She goes through waves of being confident and then completely questioning every single move she makes. So she can’t say that she has 100% discovered her self confidence but she can say that in those small moments where she did believe in and was proud of herself, it was LIBERATING. In moments where she is not confident, she second guesses herself constantly, she is apologetic about her thoughts, her work, her appearance, and she is just afraid of what people think of her.

The “AHA” Moment

Kristine realizes that EVERYONE is just figuring this whole life thing out as they go along. Specifically in the entertainment industry but in her experience, a lot of people love to give unsolicited advice out here. There’s no one way to succeed in this business and most of her favorite artists (Rachel Bloom, Gina Rodriguez, Constance Wu, Jenny Slate, Jessica Chastain) have made it by continuing to work hard and stay true to themselves.

Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence

Whenever Kristine is in a wave of feeling confident, she no longer cares what other people’s opinions are of her or her work.  She takes more risks and she is not afraid to ask for things she wants or needs. One thing she has really been embracing this year is rejection and in embracing it.  She has stop taking rejection personally, she has gotten more acting jobs, and she has been able to move forward with projects that she would otherwise give up on if she let rejection stop her. Embracing rejection has also given her more confidence because she has just been giving herself permission to live. Full circle!

The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener

Listen to great podcasts like this one! Realizing that everyone is on the same journey will inspire you to continue living a fulfilling life. Stop apologizing for things you don’t need to apologize for. Keep challenging yourself to evolve into your best self. And once in a while, actually tell yourself how proud you are of yourself. Just like you would tell a loved one! It can be very healing and powerful 🙂 And then keep reminding yourself of all these things because it’s easy to let yourself slip into negative thinking again.
