Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
Sophie’s journey was a rollercoaster of achieving and not achieving. She went through different phases of confidence. Being in England, she felt different since she the only Asian kid. She compared herself to others. Even as a photographer, she is surrounded by models and feels conscious at times. She used to feel terrible about herself at times.
The “AHA” Moment
Sophie turned to watching Kpop videos on YouTube that made her proud as an Asian. She realizes everyone is unique in their own way. Going to back to Hong Kong, she stopped comparing herself. She realized that it wasn’t about race or how you look, it’s about how you feel about yourself.
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
Sophie is grateful for youtube because of the Asian representation she sees. It shows what’s possible for her and feeling of not alone.
