Definition of Self Confidence

Self confidence is being comfortable in your own skin, despite societal and cultural pressures which you get a lot of for being of Asian background and in America. Where money, work and image mean more than balanced lifestyle.  Also that you can overcome anything.

Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence

Jacki found self confidence at 17. It had to do with growing out of her hormonal teen years but also had to do with her parents dropping all control. Partially because her college applications were in (and they knew she had no hope going to an ivy league) and because they realized there was no point in controlling her so hard.

Once she had freedom, she felt freedom to create herself and life, she found confidence.  She continues to build it with her own independence. Being independent, knowing she is able, giving back gives her confidence each and every day.

The “AHA” Moment

Jacki decided to take a trip to India by herself.  People around her told her not to go because it would be dangerous but she was determined to go.  She did her research and went ahead with the trip.  After that trip, she realized she can do this.
