Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
Karen wasn’t born as a confident person because she had a hard time talking to people especially if it was a one on one conversation.
She was bullied alot since she never talked to anybody and it went on for over 10 years.
Her self confidence was also low because her parents separated and she thought it was her fault for the split.
The “AHA” Moment
Karen moved to Singapore when she was 19 and she knew that she wanted to change for the better. She picked up a brochure one day which was to register for Toastmaster speaking club.
Karen had no clue what it was at the time but she joined anyway and the class helped her bring out her voice and confidence to the world.
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
Karen still attends Toastmasters for continuous improvement for herself. She is also a judge of speaking contest so she can what its like from a judge’s perspective.
She also speaks at live events, expos and workshops in Singapore which is a huge improvement from the girl she back then as a kid and teenager.
