Raven Lim is the Co-founder of Tomboy Tarts, a classic tomboy website called Tomboy Tarts which celebrates the classic tomboy spirit here in Asia. Raven and her team are a cool, passionate tomboy gals who can tell their lipsticks from their brogues at the drop of their fedora hat. Her comedy chat podcast which she cohosts called Tomboy Tirade, has become Asia’s biggest all-female comedy chat podcast and strangely enough, her classic tomboy personalities has been the driving force behind the site.
For Raven to be able to host her own show, she had to step out of her own comfort zone. She was always used to being behind the scenes until one incident gave her the opportunity to speak her voice and be in the spot light. Tunes in to find out Raven’s story.

Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
When Raven was in school, she was an average student and hardly in any leadership roles. That affected her self-confidence when she stepped into the working world because she didn’t have a lot of experience in managing people or seeing through projects from the beginning to the end. Raven wasn’t really sure what she was good at.
The “AHA” Moment
Raven runs a comedy podcast podcast called Tomboy Tirade that used to have two co-hosts. When one of them quitted, she couldn’t find a new co-host in time . So being the producer, she had no choice but to step in. She was always more comfortable behind the screen so it’s a totally a new ball game to be in the spotlight. She realized that in order to sound confident on the show, she had to be confident herself.
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
It is a big challenge for Raven to loosen up and speak her mind. Initially, she was very self-conscious and tend to overthink it too much. She was also worried about her accent and whether anybody could understand her. Thankfully, it does get better with experience. The new self-confidence has helped Raven with her business, especially as a first-time entrepreneur, to be able to speak up and promote herself.
