Definition of Self Confidence
Self confidence is trusting that everything that has happened in your life, every person you have met, every success or failure you have overcome, has prepared you for this very moment in your life.
Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
Growing up Cheryl was taught that it was better to be the big fish in a small pond than the small fish struggling to keep up in a big pond.
She was also raised as an obedient and abiding child, and taught that it was a man’s duty to provide for a woman and the family. As a result, Cheryl found herself drawn to characteristics that she perceived at the time as strong and masculine. In her mind, she felt that being with an alpha male would mean that she would be protected and taken care of. Ironically, the ‘stronger’ the man, the weaker Cheryl became. She wasn’t defined by herself, rather she was always X’s girlfriend. By the time she had come out the other end of 3 physically and emotionally abusive relationships, she had become a shell of herself.
The “AHA” Moment
At the end of a 6.5 year relationship where she was financially supporting her partner as well as dealing with holes being punched in the wall, Cheryl realized that she didn’t in fact need a man to support her or provide for her. Quite the contrary in fact. Being single and at a cross roads in her life, she auditioned to be a professional cheerleader, met the most amazing friends who essentially changed her life and set her on this journey of female empowerment.
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
Now Cheryl dedicates a lot of her energy and work to helping others. Her mantra is Eat Well, Train Hard, Love Yourself. She wanted to spread the message of positivity so that people should be making changes to their health and lifestyle because they love their bodies not because they hate it.
The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener
Hitting rock bottom isn’t always a bad thing because when you pick yourself up and get back on your feet, that’s when life changes. Not just yours, but also the people around you. Also, empowering others you empower yourself. Women are always portrayed in movies as catty and competitive, but really we should be lifting each other up and support each other. So join a networking group, or find people that you can help, because if we can’t lift each other up, how can we lift ourselves up.
