Favorite Self Confidence Quote
Believe you can and you’re halfway there.
Definition of Self Confidence
Self confidence comes from a deep conviction that you have something valuable to offer and that comes with the appreciation of your own unique qualities, independent of other people’s opinion.
Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
Paget felt like she was always trying to look at herself through the lens of other people and asking herself: “What is it that they want to see of me? Or “What is it that I can offer them?”
She felt largely ruled by this people-pleasing mentality that she needed to live up to other people’s wants or expectations to a degree, instead of asserting her own unique qualities and values that she brings to the table as her authentic self.
The “AHA” Moment
In producing and creating Kat Loves LA, Paget was forced to do things that she never thought she would have the courage or ability to do which surpassed her own expectations of herself. She started to build this unique sort of confidence of knowing that she is capable of a lot more than what she gives herself credit for and now she has something to show for it.
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
It’s still a process. Paget still second guess herself at times, and we all do on some level. Now it’s more quickly overpowered by this knowledge that she is valuable, and she has something to contribute.
The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener
No one gives you self confidence. It’s not something you can earn from other people. It’s only something you can really earn for yourself, within yourself.
One practical start toward self-confidence is truly appreciating the qualities in every person you meet, because once we can do that, you can really start to appreciate the qualities in yourself.
Also, challenge yourself in your daily life, do something scary, go out on a limb from time to time. Surprise yourself. And you’ll end up seeing that you are a lot more capable, than you likely give yourself credit for, and it will lead to a natural expansion in your self value.
