Favorite Self Confidence Quote
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.
Definition of Self Confidence
Not caring about what other people think of you. Defining your self worth based on your self love and that only.
Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
Jennifer used to be really self conscious throughout middle school and early high school. She worried a lot about what her peers thought of her and that also reflected through her fashion choices. It was always about having the next “trending” item such as Juicy jackets, True Religion jeans, Uggs, etc.
The “AHA” Moment
Jennifer always loved fashion but it wasn’t till my sophomore year that she started experimenting with her personal style and wearing things she thought were unique and eye-catching, rather than simply being focused on specific brands/designers. The beginning of her junior year was when she started her personal style blog (Formerly known as Art In Our Blood) and by then she was having quite a bit of fun trying out new styles! Previously she had always worried about fitting in, but experimenting with her style and being similarly recognized amongst my peers for it, made her realize that she is much happier standing out from the crowd as an individual! But even then, she had discovered the amazingly transformative power of a good outfit alone can make her feel confident and powerful. She didn’t need validation from others anymore. When she felt that she looked good, that in turn made her feel good, and all that mattered was her own opinion of herself.
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
Jennifer’s happiness was a lot more untouchable. She actually became really excited to go to school each day so that she could show off her outfits too. The self-confidence she got from her outfits in turn fueled the passion behind her blog and suffice to say, her blog changed her life in that it opened so many doors for her with her fashion pursuits and led to some of her most treasured friendships with fellow fashion bloggers she met along the way!
The One Self Confidence Tip For the Listener
Find what makes you happy and run with it. Something that makes you feel so fulfilled and driven that you don’t need the validation of others to feel good. Strive for happiness that is untouchable by others and your self-confidence will follow.
