Definition of Self Confidence
Self confidence begins when you start believing in yourself. Once you start to learn and understand your personal potential and capacity for greatness- which is limitless- the rest of the magic will follow after.
Nothing happens overnight, but creating this energy alone is definitely the step in the right direction, and to upkeep this positive attitude will only progress you farther and farther and farther. And you’re just going to constantly impress yourself, overcome your obstacles, and see how much farther you can go after that. Never stop, sky’s the limit!
Her Life Before the Discovery of Self Confidence
Christi was an extreme tomboy growing up. She was lanky and awkward and was teased often. She was called betty spaghetti, bugs bunny, oak tree. Later they’d start to call her palm tree as she started to come into my own.
But after high school Christi was still feeling some prolonged teenage angst, not sure which direction She was going. She was slowly losing hope in the world, and in humanity, and in herself. Feeling the pressures of feeling like she was not good enough for love, or for her family. Extremely self-doubting and confused.
The “AHA” Moment
Christi’s AHA moment would have to be my first Burning Man in 2012. Like she mentioned she had been feeling a little down about who she was and her surroundings. It was definitely an epiphany moment where she understood the gift of community, and equality, and of loving one another, and loving oneself, and this mission to inspire and motivate one another to contribute to this “better world” the world has the potential to be. Christi knew she wanted to be a part of this message, and this movement—but she needed to realize, everything really does begin with herself, and what she believes, and what she needs to believe, is in herself.
Another AHA moment would definitely be winning one of the Miss Philippines crowns. People might consider pageantry easy, or a joke, even demeaning or objectifying- but like Christi mentioned she takes it very seriously, and she does it only with the most positive intentions.
Christi and a lot of girls had sacrificed a lot for the chance to be in the position she was given, the opportunity to inspire and touch and help an entire nation, even if just with a smile. It takes a lot of humility and charisma to do what they do, they’re given a voice, a platform to spread our advocacies. And the beauty about it is she did while still being herself so tomboys, out there, you can be beauty queens if you want to, too! She really learned to believe in herself, in who she is, and this internal energy is so powerful, she promises it will work 99.9 percent of the time.
Her Life After the Discovery of Self Confidence
Christi is forever learning and growing, and discovering. The transformation she’s made since her teenage years, she can definitely say she is a stronger, better, person now that she learned and understood her own potential.
Now Christi is just constantly looking for the next way to upgrade herself, or for more and more ways to improve and impress herself. She now loves to share and promote this energy with people around her, to remove their own personal doubts, and to inspire them to chase their dreams.
