It was pretty difficult for Aliya in the beginning to live life on her own terms since she was raised to live the traditional route. She realized when started to say no to things that don’t serve her, that’s when she was able to start living life for herself instead of living life for others. Aliya lived the traditional life which was go to school, get good grades, get a good job, get married and never rock the boat.  Since she was the eldest of three, she to always set a good example for her younger sisters.  She was also a people pleaser.
